It’s almost that time of year again. The autumnal colors that radiate from the trees are coming to a seasonal end, alumni are making plans to visit their alma maters for the big game, and refrigerators are being stocked in preparation for large family meals.
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect, a time to spend with family. Come to think of it, it’s not just about the delicacies that pass across our dining room tables, but a time to truly be thankful for everything in our otherwise hectic lives.
We’re sure many of you remember waking up to the smell of a cooking turkey in the oven and chestnuts popping over a fire. Do you remember your favorite float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade? These are memories that are cherished and even may have evolved into family traditions over the years.
Unfortunately, however, not everybody has these comforts and good memories associated with Thanksgiving. Some are going through tough times and are struggling just to get themselves and their families fed, let alone a full turkey dinner.
In the spirit of the holidays, VIGO Industries has teamed up with Elijah’s Promise in New Brunswick, New Jersey. We are donating non-perishable food items to those who may not have a hot meal or a place to stay this holiday season. We feel it’s important to give back to the community, and share love and some time with others who need it the most.
What are your Thanksgiving plans? Do you plan on donating time or food this holiday? Join the conversation over on the VIGO Twitter page, and be sure to use hashtag #TalkToVIGO.
