Interior Designer Transforms her Bathroom into an Earthy Oasis with VIGO

A bathroom renovation journey

Bathroom renovations are not as laborious as they seem when you have an eye for detail and design. We love seeing beautiful interior transformations that radiate personality and impeccable taste. Interior designer Patchi Cancado, founder of interior design studio Made by Patchi based in Virginia, worked with her husband to transform their primary bathroom into an oasis so inviting, you'll never want to leave — and the before-and-after photos speak volumes.

The Selection of Materials and Textures

Patchi’s interior design style can be described as minimalist yet timeless. Her work is all about the details and textures. She kept the original plumbing layout and swapped her nearby closet for “a more expansive and comfortable shower.” When envisioning the design for the bathroom, Patchi opted for a serene and earthy approach. She used unglazed zellige tiles for the floor reminiscent of a sandy beach. Zellige titles are handcrafted in Morocco and can be glazed or unglazed. These tiles certainly add timeless allure to the space.

Unique sink choice and black metal accents

The before picture shows a white wall mounted pedestal sink. Patchi swapped it for a unique vanity with wood-texture details that she created with her husband (we’re going to need a DIY video on that because we’ve never seen anything like it!). On top of the handcrafted vanity, Patchi chose VIGO’s Bryant Matte Stone Bathroom Sink in a rectangular shape. VIGO Matte Stone™ sinks are nonporous and made from natural materials, which is on-brand for the earthy bathroom theme. Along with the Bryant vessel bathroom sink, Patchi selected the Apollo Button-Operated Bathroom Faucet from VIGO in matte black. According to Patchi, “the consistent use of black metal throughout the home, from window frames to the smallest details, ties this entire house together” and we wholeheartedly agree.

the harmonious pallette and mood-boosting atmosphere

Patchi chose the same stone for the shower curb and vanity countertop for a more cohesive look. The color palette of this bathroom is a guaranteed mood-booster.
